Minnesota & Michigan 2012
We are ready and rolling on our fall trip to
the Midwest. We are really excited. This
trip is planned to be six weeks, driving the
truck and pulling the camper. The
preparation was iffy because we had
noticed shifting problems with the truck.
The problem was a faulty pump for the
transmission fluid. Ford had issued a recall
that the garage had-now we are rolling.
It is amazing how much time it takes to
pack and prepare. This trip Ginger is older,
and her circumstances are different, so
packing was easier. She is adjusting to the
Invisible Fence, so she kept up with me
between the house and camper.
Ginger is ten months old. She still is very
much a puppy, and we love her
playfulness.
We are planning to drive 200 miles, when
we drive. We are staying a day between
driving days to get to see the area. We are
staying in National Parks and State Parks as
much as we can. I made reservations up to
Minnesota.
We will be visiting Ann's cousins, Rolf
(Joan), Neil (Shirley), and Joanne in the
Minneapolis area. Rolf, Neil, and Joan are
three of Uncle Gordon and Aunt Bernice's
children. Then we will drive north to
Walker, MN to visit Sterling's cousin, Don
(Linda). Then we are going to explore
Michigan, including the Upper Peninsula, 3
before we head east for home.
When we were camped in Ohio in June, I
used this Chronicle software. I didn't get
the pictures to lock in place, so I will try to
do better this time. I will send the travel
journal notes via email.
We have many good friends who are
watching our home base while we are gone.
We really appreciate that.
First stop will be Hickory Run State Park,
south of Scranton, PA. Their Boulder Hike
should be interesting. Planning to tour
Yuengling Brewery tomorrow, too.
